Design-Build

As project budgets and schedules become more demanding, clients need their facilities completed, on-line and in operation at a faster pace, driving new methods for delivery of construction services. Walton’s design-build services provide effective integration of design and construction, and our full-time staff of estimating, scheduling, safety, quality, value engineering, and construction experts interact with the design professional, engineer and/or architect and achieve the client's goals:  design of the highest quality, deliverable within budget and on schedule.

Walton is thoroughly familiar with the major types of design-build construction delivery:

§         Contractor (at-risk) lead, in which Walton carries subcontracts, leads the project team, and the design team responds to Walton.

§         Contractor (client at-risk) lead, in which the client carries subcontracts and Walton leads the project team with the design team responding to Walton.

§         Design team lead, in which the design team takes the lead and Walton responds to them.

§         Contractor lead, MEP design, in which Walton takes the lead for MEP design and all construction, the MEP design team responds to Walton, and other components of the design are completed by an independent design team.

All of these delivery methods provide uniquely attractive features to different clients, and numerous other variations are available. One major advantage to all of these methods is that the client can get quicker and more reliable answers to questions since there is only one lead entity.
