The first Walton project in the Springfield region was the
Dillon's supermarket in 1989 and it was managed from
Kansas City. A later project,
the Dixie Stampede Dinner Theater in Branson, led to the
decision to open an office in Springfield, managed by
Rick Quint, in 1994. The Bank One Call
Center in Springfield, in
2000,
represented a major milestone for
Walton-Springfield. At the time it was the largest
project in the city not located on the university
campus, and it positioned Walton as a contractor more
than equal to the competition in the area. Recent
projects include the Bass Pro Shop at Branson Landings –
its 45,000 square feet includes a floating restaurant
marina – and the James River Assembly of God Church. In
addition, Walton-Springfield has completed four projects
on the Medical Mile in the last two years.
